2020 Upland Vineyard Grenache
Owen Bargreen - 95 Points
This shows very pretty and clean with guava puree, green olive tapenade, Mandarin orange rind and suggestions of horse manure. The utterly sensational aromatics bring you back to the glass for more enjoyment. The sensational sense of texture really drives this wine, as does the underlying acidity and salty tones.

This Grenache comes from the Upland Vineyard located in the Snipes Mountain AVA in beautiful Yakima Valley. This is an old site dating back to early 1900’s and is managed by one of the most talented growers around, Todd Newhouse. Extremely warm and rocky, this site is higher in elevation making it ideally suited for the ever-so-difficult Grenache varietal.
I always tell people that I love to hate Grenache, but I love her more than I hate her. It's very difficult to grow and often a pain in the cellar as well. As we continue to expand our Grenache program, Upland will, without a doubt, be the backbone of our juice.
